About

Marguerite de Valois is a Parisian manufacturer of Vintage Costume and Couture Jewelry, which has been in business for more than 150 years.

The advent of ready-to-wear, along with the change from “handmade” to industrial, pushed most of the manufacturers to close their workshops; however, Marguerite de Valois has managed to perpetuate their know-how, having created jewels for many important couture houses, such as Chanel, Cristobal Balenciaga, Hubert de Givenchy, Dior, Yves Saint-Laurent, Pierre Balmain, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Christian Lacroix, Marc Jacobs, Carven…

Marguerite de Valois strives to keep the memories of vintage costume jewelry with her revival of the vintage collection, as well as create new contemporary lines

Today, Marguerite de Valois is manufacturing two collections:

The Reine Margot, which is a revival of Vintage Couture Costume Jewelry

The Marguerite de Valois ready-to-wear collection

Process

The craftsmen of Marguerite de Valois learned their skills in the very heart of one of the oldest Parisian ateliers, and developed into specialists of glass enamelling and covering with mother -of-pearl. All the jewelry is either gold or silver plated, and are all hand-made in France.

Each piece of jewelry is carefully designed and crafted with one thought in mind, to make the women who is wearing it look and feel beautiful!
